Hey there, Tenderonis. How was Monday? I bailed on my responsibilities this afternoon and hit my nearby MAC counter to play with the new for lips, face and eyes.
I swatched everything the counter had in stock, which was nine of the 11 items. Of course, the two that were missing just happened to be the two I was MOST looking forward to ( and ), but c’est la vie, le sigh!
I’ll track down the two stragglers later this week. In the meantime, let me know what you think about these.

NOTE: The DSquared collection includes a repeat of MAC’s , which they also released last week with MAC Style Black. I think it’s hawt (stays on for ages and can be layered beneath colors to ramp up their intensity). There’s a shot of it here.
A few quick notes
We (DSquared and I) still need to get better aquatinted over the coming days, but …
- I fell deeper in love with the Greasepaint Sticks when I discovered that each one houses a hidden sharpener in the base. Nice for when I want to use one as liner. 🙂
- The Feline Eye Kohl flat-out rocks. No joke. A lot of black pencils will look blueish or greenish on my skin, but not this little lover. It’s a true black with no blue, green or purple undertones at all. And it goes on smoothly, with a formula that hasn’t irritated my eyes when I’ve worn it on my waterline. I think this one might be worthy of stockpiling.
- I may skip the Sculpt and Shape Powders (contouring and highlighting powders). The MAC mua I chatted with today thought they’d probably appeal more to professional makeup artists than to everyday makeup fanatics on account of how sheer they apply, and I can see her point.
So what do ya think? Do any DSquareds catch your eye?
